LoCo Motion Pictures is seeking a Marketing and Social Media Coordinator to apply to the CMPA’s Export Development Mentorship Program with. This is a paid position. Please see this link for eligibility and program details:

You will be involved in developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy to increase our web traffic and our brand awareness for the company and for individual productions. You’ll create engaging content, launch new campaigns, and engage with online communities to create fans, retain relationships, and analyze what’s appealing to our audiences. You will gain detailed knowledge of the Canadian industry and the global market as well as develop a variety of skills required of producers. You will be involved with researching potential partners as we focus on international co-productions. You will also be spearheading our festival strategy for recently launched shows.

 

Qualifications include:

  • University degree or college diploma in communications, digital marketing, marketing, social media, journalism or film and television.

  • In-depth knowledge of social media including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube (any other platforms would be an asset)

  • Ability to determine effectiveness of posts using data

  • Navigate the social media space and be familiar with the tools it takes to post and measure effectively (Google Analytics, etc)

  • Some graphics design experience / general knowledge of design for the purpose of creating posts / ads

  • Knowledge of social analytics and able to gather and analyze data collected and translate into meaningful findings

  • Passion about storytelling (TV, podcasts, culture, comedy)

  • Comfortable with tools like Canva, Substack, Buffer, Wordpress

  • Copy savvy, organized and collaborative

  • Excellent multitasking skills to handle all of our social media accounts in a cohesive way

  • Highly organized with the ability to take initiative

  • Experience shooting and/or editing social videos

  • Self-starter who takes initiative and enjoys a fast-paced, creative, environment

  • Keen attention to detail

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Research areas of interest including potential partners and festivals

  • Design social media strategies to achieve marketing targets

  • Draft and schedule posts

  • Edit and create video optimized for each platform

  • Research trends and competitors

  • Manage, create and publish original, high quality content including writing copy for posts

  • Administer all company social media accounts ensuring up-to-date content

  • Liaise with writers (where applicable) to ensure content is informative and appealing

  • Collaborate with outside public relations (where applicable) team to create social ‘buzz’ regarding new series launches

  • Facilitate company communication (respond to queries, get reviews and organize chats and Q&A sessions)

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on web and social media traffic and ROI

  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization

  • Integrate and maintain a cohesive social media strategy

  • Develop and run social promotions, contests, and campaigns, and track their success (e.g., Facebook Live, Reddit AMA)

  • Develop, maintain, and execute content and promotion calendars

  • Explore new opportunities to engage our audience, and adjust with shifting trends and marketplace needs

  • create compelling content (videos, animations, graphics, etc.) that entertains our audience and also supports our marketing and company goals

  • Research market attendees and companies

  • Research and propose festival strategy for recently launched and upcoming productions
